Summary

Ryan Urban is an award-winning visual effects artist and supervisor. He has worked on a diverse range of productions that include blockbuster films, high-end episodics and national TV advertising.

He was a dedicated Compositor on films such as The Avengers, Wrath of the Titans, Cloud Atlas, Argo, This Means War and The Tree of Life and high profile ad campaigns like Halo Reach Deliver Hope (winner of the VES Award for Best Visual Effects) and LG World of Play (nominated for Best Compositing VES).

He led the in-house teams for the Jupiter Ascending and the first season of the Netflix original series Sense 8 and later shared the VFX Supervisor role during its second season.

He was the overall supervisor on the Netflix original series Messiah, Showtime’s Work in Progress and Wolf Hound. He founded Turncoat Pictures in 2015, where he was the vendor-side VFX Supervisor on Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time, Pacific Rim Uprising, White Noise, The Matrix Resurrections and the upcoming Mickey 17.

Ryan led and supervised the Weekends music video for Big Time Rush at NEXODUS.
